Laws Of Manu
info_icon

Manu Sharma, aka Siddharth Vashisht Sharma, was a pampered child who couldn’t take no for an answer. Studying at Ajmer’s Mayo College, he later shifted to the Sector 16’s Government Senior Secondary School in Chandigarh. Surrounded by the security men provided to his father, then a minister in P.V. Narasimha Rao’s cabinet, Manu was often late for school, ignoring all reprimands. Father Vinod Sharma is a businessman and was the president of the Chandigarh Territorial Congress Committee until Lall’s murder. Grandfather Kedarnath is a liquor baron.

Manu joined SP College of Commerce, Chandigarh, where his father is chairman of the board. He spent most of his time at a farmhouse in Hallumajra, throwing pool parties. After college, he managed his father’s sugar factory at Karnal, a job he enjoyed. Manu often drove down to Delhi and visited discos like Mirage, Djinns and Oasis. He was often reported to pick up fights with guards, managers and visitors. Jessica Lall fell victim to a brat who had no idea where to draw the line.
