A police officer from Jogulamba Gadwal district in Telangana was suspended on Tuesday for getting a massage from a woman home guard, reported Hindustan Times.
Earlier this week, a video purportedly showing a woman home guard pressing the back of a junior official of the Telangana Police has gone viral on social media, prompting the Jogulamba-Gadwal district police to order an inquiry into the incident.
A senior police official said the alleged incident had occurred around 4-5 months ago at the Armed Reserve headquarters in the district.
District Superintendent of Police M S Vijay Kumar earlier told PTI that he had ordered a probe immediately after the video came to his notice.
He said the Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) was apparently suffering from backache and had requested the home guard to press his back which she did willingly.
"However, it (such act) is not acceptable. A disciplinary action will be taken (against the ASI) based on the inquiry report," Vijay Kumar said.
This is the second such incident that came into light in the recent past from the state. Earlier, on November 4, a video clip of a police inspector receiving a massage from a male home guard went viral. Rachakonda police commissioner Mahesh Bhagawat ordered an inquiry into the incident, following which the officer concerned was transferred to the police headquarters.
