As the game of cricket evolves amid decreasing attention spans and altering consumer interests, the popularity of the T20 format continues to rise. Having the option to watch a match that ends in 200 minutes flat entices viewers and administrators alike, and that has been reflected in the mushrooming of a plethora of domestic T20 leagues too.
The International Cricket Council's T20I Player Rankings are a sound metric to evaluate the standing of international cricketers across nationalities in the shortest format of the game. The players' performances are ranked using a points-based system which involves several calculations that lead up to a sophisticated moving average.
