13 Odisha Athletes Set To Receive Rs 10 Lakh Each From State Government For Asian Games

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik pledged financial support for the state's athletes who will compete in the forthcoming Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, on Wednesday.

According to an official announcement released by the chief minister's office, each Asian Games-bound athlete would receive Rs 10 lakh to help with their training, preparation, and participation in the famous athletic event.

The Asian Games, noted for bringing together great athletes from around the continent, provide a forum for competitors to demonstrate their dedication and talent.

The Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games will be held in China from September 23 to October 8, this year.

Thirteen Odisha athletes will compete in the Asian Games. Anupama Swain in Ju-Jitsu; Neha Devi Leichondam in Kayaking and Canoeing; Pyari Xaxa in football; Deep Grace Ekka and Amit Rohidas in hockey; and Dumuni Marndi, Tarulata Naik, Mama Naik, and Hupi Majhi in rugby.

Patnaik wished them well and stated his hope that the athletes would demonstrate their talent in the Games and that this incentive would allow them to focus exclusively on their training and performance.
