Aside from Neeraj Chopra, the reigning Asian Games javelin throw champion who won gold in Jakarta 2018, steeplechaser Avinash Sable, Tajinder Singh Toor, the Asian record holder and defending shot put champion, and ace hurdler Jyothi Yarraji will also be in action.
Murali Sreeshankar and Jeswin Aldrin will compete in the men's long jump, Shaili Singh in the women's long jump, and Praveen Chithravel and Abdulla Aboobacker in the men's triple jump.
Swapna Barman and Jinson Johnson -- the reigning heptathlon and men's 1500m champions, respectively -- will be in Hangzhou to defend their Jakarta titles.
The Indian mixed and women's 4x400m relay teams will also compete as defending Asian Games winners, while the men's relay team, which set a new Asian record at the World Athletics Championships 2023 in Budapest, will be the quartet to beat.
