Captain of the victorious Australia team, Pat Cummins has hit back at Pakistan team director Mohammed Hafeez's claims that the visitors were the better of the two sides in Australia vs Pakistan, 2nd Test. Pakistan looked to be heading toward a memorable win, only for Cummins and Co to strike and snatch the victory from under their opponents' noses. (Scorecard | Cricket News)

Hafeez later channelled his disappointment outward in a media meet, stating that his team was the better of the two 'in general', even if they ended up losing the tie. Consequently, Pakistan also lost the three-game series, with the hosts taking an unassailable 2-0 advantage.

“The whole game I will sum up, our Pakistan team played better than the other team in general,” Hafeez said in a press conference.

Cummins, though, was having none of it. Replying to the Pakistan team director in a presser, the Australia skipper credited the opponents for playing well, but simply pointed at the eventual winners of the contest.

“Ahhhh. Cool. They played well. I am glad we got the win. It doesn’t really matter, does it? It is the team who wins at the end,” replied Cummins, according to news.com.au.

Despite securing the series, Australia will play Pakistan in a third, and final, Test match, starting on January 3rd, 2023.
