It was an emotional day for Australian cricket players and fans as David Warner hung up his boots in the Test arena. Warner said his goodbyes to the Test arena with a memorable performance at his homeground, the Sydney Cricket Ground. Born on October 27, 1986, in Paddington, Australia, Warner went onto play 112 Tests and amassing 8786 runs at an average of 44.60 that included 26 tons and 37 half-centuries.
Moreover, his aggressive batting display earned him a strike rate of 70.20 and also took 91 catches.
Warner's last Test innings saw him score a fifty (57) in the second innings. Despite getting dismissed, the southpaw ensured his side sealed a 3-0 series victory.
In the post-match ceremony, Masood called up Warner on to the stage and gifted him the autographed jersey by the whole Pakistani team. The Pakistan skipper thanked Warner for his contributions to the sport and wished him well for the future.
"I want to give a token of appreciation and a bit of gift for David Warner. Can you please come on the stage. Thank You So Much. We as a team thought of giving you Babar Azam shirt with signatures of all players and all the best for all the future endeavors," said Masood.
