Pakistan pacer Aamer Jamal couldn't hide his emotions after scalping six wickets against Australia in the third and final Test against Pat Cummins-led Australia at the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Friday. (More Cricket News)
Jamal's fiery spell made sure Pakistan was handed a vital 14-run lead at the end of the 1st innings after bowling out the Aussies for 299.
The 27-year-old pacer later said that he never gave up on his attacking approach, despite leaking runs off his bowling.
“I'm over the moon, proud to be representing my country at this level. I think this a wonderful opportunity for me. It's been so long, I still remember those days when I used to watch the Pakistan team,” Jamal was quoted as saying during the innings break.
The home side were cruising at one point of time, when Jamal ran through the lower-order. From a comfortable 289/5, the Aussies lost the last five wickets for 10 runs. The quickie scalped the wickets of Usman Khawaja, Travis Head, Cummins, Nathan Lyon and Josh Hazlewood.

Earlier, Jamal scored a handy 82 runs with the bat as he helped Pakistan post 313 in their first innings. He put up a handy 86-run stand for the 10th wicket with Mir Hamza.
“We were seven down for 227; I think that partnership brought us back in the game. We are a couple of runs ahead of them and that matters," Jamal added.
Jamal is also two wickets shy of registering a record of most wickets by a Pakistani bowler on Aussie soil. The seamer has taken 18 wickets so far from five innings.
