Babar Azam Heaps Praise On Virat Kohli Ahead Of Asia Cup 2023 IndiaVs Pakistan Clash

The India vs Pakistan tie is a closely watched affair always and this time, the match will see teams give chances to players, to test their combinations ahead of ODI World Cup 2023.

Fireworks will fly when these two iconic teams meet at Pallekele International Stadium.

Ahead of the match, Pakistan captain Babar Azam spoke about the time when Virat Kohli praised him.

"Feels really good, when somebody passes comments like this. The way Virat Kohli has given comments, for me it is a proud moment. I felt really good. When you get praised like this, you get confidence. He said that in 2019 (World Cup) I went up to him. He was at his peak, he is at his peak now too. I thought I should take some lessons from him. I learnt a lot from him then. He explained a lot of things. It helped me a lot. These things help," Babar Azam said in a video posted by Star Sports.

Pakistan beat Nepal in the opening encounter of Asia Cup 2023. After the game, Babar said that this win was a good preparation for the India tie. 

"This game was good preparation for the India game because it gave us confidence. We want to give 100 per cent every match, hope to do that there as well," Babar said after the end of the match. Babar smashed 151, his 19th ODI century while Iftikhar Ahmed (109 not out) hit his maiden ODI ton to power Pakistan to an imposing 342 for six after opting to bat.
