Indian para-shuttler Nithya Sre Sivan has clinched bronze in Women's Singles SH6 category. She defeated Indonesia's Rina Marlina 21-14, 21-6. (Para Badminton Highlights | Full Coverage)

The 19-year-old Nithya comfortably beat Indonesia's Rina Marlina 21-14 21-6 to sign off on a winning note in her maiden appearance at the Games.

The SH6 category is for athletes who possess a shot stature and can compete while standing. The ‘SH’ stands for "standing/short stature".

Nithya's dominance on the game saw her race to a 7-0 lead in the opening game, but her Indonesian opponent made a fabulous comeback to make it 10-10. Nithya, who was in danger of losing the game, found her rhythm and composure to close out the first game in 13 minutes.

From then on, she did not look back as she took a massive 10-2 lead in the second game. Nithya showed her dominance as she won the second game in 23 minutes to win in straight games.
