Stamp Fairtex’s star was already rising in North America, but she propelled herself to new heights with a stunning finish of Alyse “Lil’ Savage” Anderson at ONE Fight Night 10: Johnson vs. Moraes III on Friday, May 5.
It was a groundbreaking night for the world’s largest martial arts organization, as ONE Championship made its United States debut with a sold-out show at Colorado’s 1stBank Center.
Moreover, it was a monumental moment for the Thai fan favorite. Not only did Stamp win a US$50,000 performance bonus and punch her ticket to a ONE Interim Women’s Atomweight MMA World Title shot, but her flawless body kick was the most memorable MMA knockout of 2023.
Stamp appeared in control for most of the contest leading up to its climax, drilling her American rival with punches and knees to the body when the latter tried to get in close.
The former ONE Muay Thai and Kickboxing World Champion also showed off her ever-evolving versatility in the grappling exchanges, getting on top of “Lil Savage” in round one and taking her back in the second.
As time went on, it looked like “Lil Savage’s” window of opportunity was closing – and then, Stamp snatched it away completely.
Anderson tried to pressure the Fairtex athlete to the Circle Wall in order to attempt a takedown, but Stamp pummeled for an underhook and stepped out to free herself.
As soon as enough space opened up, the Thai let rip with a hard left knee to the liver, before uncorking a devastating right kick to the liver, folding Anderson like an accordion to get the win at 2:27 of round two.
In Stamp’s next fight, the interim belt was upgraded to the ONE Women’s Atomweight MMA World Title due to “Unstoppable” Angela Lee’s retirement.
The 26-year-old promptly made history with another knockout victory to become the only three-sport World Champion in ONE history.
