Kashyap, who has not a BWF tournament since 2018 Lei 21-17, 22-20 in straight games. Once ranked No. 6 in men's singles, he now holds the ranking of 189.
On Tuesday, Kashyap won his first round match against Germany's Kai Schaefer, but he had to work hard towards his 21-14, 22-20 victory.
India's only men's doubles pair in the event Krishna Prasad Ganga and Vishuvardhan Gaud Panjala overcame their first round opponents Lu Chen and Chen Zhi Ray of Chinese Taipei in straight games, winning 21-14, 21-16.
