The challenge is tough but not impossible for the hosts as they have achieved a bigger target than this in the past. They successfully chased down the target of 387 runs in the fourth innings against England in 2008 during the Chennai Test.

It is to date, the biggest target chased down in the history of Test cricket in India.

Speaking of the famous 2008 Test, India chased down the target of 387 in the final session of the Test match thanks to Virender Sehwag's blistering attack followed by centuries from Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh.

  • 395 - West Indies vs Bangladesh in Chittagong.

Indian openers have given a good start to the chase as the hosts are 64/1 after 10 overs and the Indian captain Rohit Sharma is back in the pavilion. The onus will be on the young batters like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill and Sarfaraz Khan.

On Friday, India named an 18-member squad for their next series of Australia. India will play five Test matches Down Under and a pace-strong squad is announced for that.
