Well, as the dust settles on yet another glorious Indian Premier League campaign, here’s the team of the tournament from the 2024 edition.
1. Sunil Narine
The Narine attacking mode was switched on again by Gautam Gambhir’s confidence as the Kolkata Knight Riders opener went on a rampage scoring 488 runs at an average of 34.86 with a strike rate of 180.74. The move turned out to be an absolute masterstroke for the Knight Riders as Narine provided quick starts and also converted one of those into a ton. For his all round performance, he was also named the most valuable player of the season.
2. Virat Kohli
Royal Challengers Bengaluru star Virat Kohli silenced a lot of critics with his intent and strike rate, and also played a very crucial part in helping RCB reach the playoffs after a miserable start. The opener scored 741 runs at an average of 61.75 and also took home the Orange Cap. He also managed to score four fifties along the way to help Sunrisers reach the finals of the tournament.
5. Shivam Dube
The Chennai Super Kings middle-order bat earned a deserving T20 World Cup call-up on the back of a sensational IPL 2024. Dube consistently hit CSK out of trouble and also scored 396 runs at a strike rate of 162.30 including three fifties under his belt. To make those numbers look even better, he made headlines for hitting 38 sixes in the tournament.
6. Andre Russell
222 runs at an average of 31.71 and a strike rate of 185 - that is a decent season for a finisher? But Andre? With not much Russel-mania with the bat in the 2024 IPL, he proved his fitness and versatility by coming good with the ball. The all-rounder picked up 19 wickets at an average of 15 with 3/19 as his best figures which came in the all-important final in Chennai.
7. Pat Cummins
Pat Cummins slots into the side as the captain after taking a new-look ultra aggressive Sunrisers Hyderabad to the final. He picked up 18 wickets at an average of 31.44 bowling the tough, crucial overs during Sunrisers’ defense. The Australian also scored quick runs, with an unbeaten 35 as his highest score.
8. Jasprit Bumrah
From moving the new ball, to foxing the batters with his slower ones and the nail-crushing yorkers, MI’s go-to man bagged 20 wickets at an average of 16.80 and with an economy of 6.48, and also has a five-for to his name. The ever-reliant Jasprit Bumrah was one of the bright lights in Mumbai Indians’ 2024 dark room.
9. Harshal Patel
Harshal Patel continued to weave magic in the lucrative T20 league and has been very consistent in doing so. Despite him leaking runs on several occasions, the Punjab Kings pacer makes up for by picking wickets and putting an end to the opposition's momentum. The right-arm medium pacer picked up 24 wickets in 14 games and won the Purple Cap for the 2024 season.
10. Varun Chakravarty
After kicking off the IPL slowly, Varun stepped on the accelerator and shifted to fifth gear as the season went along. The Kolkata Knight Riders spinner picked up 21 wickets with an economy of 8.04 and played a huge role in mastermind-ing KKR to the title, pairing up with Sunil Narine
11. Thangarasu Natarajan
Natarajan had an outing to forget in the IPL finals. However, the death over specialist had a season to remember after picking up 19 wickets at 24.07, and once again has started to make an Indian comeback noise.

12. Sanju Samson
The Rajasthan Royals skipper Samson had two bad playoff games scoring just 17 and 10 in the Eliminator and Qualifier 2, respectively. But despite that, he has piled up 531 runs in 15 games at a strike rate of 153.47 with five fifties in his kitty.
13. Travis Head
The Australian star has been breathing fire in the IPL 2024 season opening for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Head notched up a whopping 567-run season with a staggering strike rate of 191.55. Sunrisers’ new cult hero made four fifties and a hundred in what was a spectacular season that did not have a fairytale ending.
