O'Dowd's unbeaten half-century knock came off 48 balls as he guided the Dutch team to a comfortable yet an important victory in Group D at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, finishing on 109-4 off 18.4 overs.
Earlier, Nepal were put into bat by Scott Edwards, and were restricted to 106 all out thanks to some superb bowling by the Netherlands bowlers especially Tim Pringle and Logan van Beek.
Nepal's next T20 World Cup fixture is against Sri Lanka on June 11 at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill, Florida. As for the Dutch, they will get ready to face the Proteas on June 8.
