The first day of the Ranji Trophy Round 2 was headlined by Shubman Gill. The anticipated return of India Test captain turned out to be a nightmare for the batter as he was dismissed for 1. He was cleaned up by Ajay Mandal.

Delhi batter Priyansh Arya had a great outing on Day 1 as he scored a magnificent century, before falling short of a double century by just one run. He scored 199 off 220 balls, smashing 24 fours and six sixes at a strike rate of 90.45.

Captain Ayush Badoni kept the momentum going by scoring a century, remaining unbeaten on 115 at stumps on Day 1.

Delhi will continue their innings from 381/4.

Salil Arora's fabulous innings comes to an end as he is dismissed by Dharmendrasinh Jadeja. Salil goes back to the pavilion after scoring 107 off 226 balls, smashing 10 fours.

Ayush Badoni falls after completing his double century. Jaymeet Patil took the prized wicket of Badoni, who scored 217 off 246 balls, smashing 22 fours and two sixes.

Dharmendrasinh Jadeja's 7-fer helped Chhattisgarh bowl out Punjab for 456.

Batting first, Punjab started off well with a 55-run opening partnership between Vihaan Malhotra (40) and Harnoor Singh (20). Chhattisgarh fought back to send them back to the pavilion one by one, before removing India's captain Shubman Gill for just one run.

Punjab were soon reduced to 68/3. Captain Uday Saharan and Prabhsimran Singh (62) combined to add a 130-run partnership for the fourth wicket to bring Punjab out of a tricky position. Dharmendrasinh removed Prabh to break the partnership. Uday completed his century and got out on Day 2, while Salil Arora also made 107 before getting out. Uday top-scored for Punjab with 161 runs. Punjab's innings soon collapsed and the team was bowled out for 456.

Sarfaraz Khan reaches his century in style, nudging the ball for a single before raising his bat and bowing down in celebration.

Mumbai are cruising at 331/4, firmly on top.
