A pivotal flyweight mixed martial arts scrap between two of the division’s most talented stars is coming to ONE Fight Night 15 on Prime Video.
On Friday, October 6, #3-ranked flyweight MMA contender Danny Kingad will square off with rising star Hu Yong in a U.S. primetime battle that could position either man on the doorstep of a World Title shot.
A veteran of 14 appearances in ONE, Kingad has been a fixture of the flyweight elite for over seven years, firmly establishing himself as one of the most respected athletes in the division.
The Filipino standout is a former ONE Flyweight World Title challenger and knows he’ll need to take out Hu before he can once again fight for 26 pounds of gold.
He’ll come into the showdown following a unanimous decision victory over Eko Roni Saputra – a performance that snapped the Indonesian’s seven-fight winning streak.
However, “The King” will be facing a dangerous and confident opponent in Hu.
Known as “Wolf Warrior,” the Chinese striker has put together an impressive 3-1 record in ONE Championship following an unbeaten run in ONE Warrior Series and hopes to take Kingad’s spot in the division’s top five.
Plus, the 27-year-old is no stranger to world-class competition.
After suffering his first ONE defeat at the hands of former World Title challenger Yuya Wakamatsu, Hu bounced back with a stunning first-round knockout of former divisional king Geje Eustaquio and a hard-fought decision victory over South Korea’s top flyweight, Woo Sung Hoon.
With plenty on the line and both men on a mission to claim flyweight gold, fans can expect a highly technical, high-paced war on October 6.
