Another dose of thrilling Muay Thai action has been added to ONE Fight Night 17: Tawanchai vs. Superbon on Prime Video

On December 8 in U.S. primetime, Felipe “Demolition Man” Lobo and Saemapetch Fairtex will duke it out in a rematch between two of the bantamweight division’s top contenders at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Lobo earned his #2 contender spot with a shocking knockout win over Saemapetch in their first meeting at ONE Fight Night 9 in April.

The Brazilian clubbed his Thai rival with a volley of concussive punches to take a memorable third-round victory, improving his ONE slate to 3-1 with another high-profile scalp.

His only defeat in the organization came when he challenged former ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nong-O Hama for the gold in March 2022. Now back on track, he’ll look to keep rolling toward another World Title opportunity.

Saempaetch holds the #3 contender spot and has been one of the leading lights in ONE’s bantamweight Muay Thai division since its inception.

Debuting back in 2018 and boasting an impressive 8-4 slate against a who’s who of elite opponents, the 29-year-old has beaten four Muay Thai World Champions in that stretch to prove he belongs in the top tier.

The Thai got back to winning ways with a first-round knockout of Kaonar Sor Jor Thongprajin at ONE Friday Fights 30 in August, and he’ll be eager to level the score with Lobo now he’s regained some momentum.

Although Lobo and Saemapetch both lost to Nong-O when the latter ruled the division with an iron fist, they’ll be hungry for a shot at newly crowned king Jonathan “The General” Haggerty.

A victory on December 8 would make a strong case for either man, so fans should expect a fierce battle in this high-stakes matchup.

Haggerty is aiming for two-sport gold on November 3 when he faces Fabricio Andrade for the vacant ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Title at ONE Fight Night 16 on Prime Video, but afterward, he’ll be awaiting his first challenger in the Muay Thai ranks.
