Manvir Singh and Shubhasish Bose scored on either sides of the break to hand the Mariners their fourth win of the tournament and take them to the second spot in the table just behind Bengaluru FC. Hyderabad's loss, their fourth of the season, makes matters worse for them and they continue to be stuck at the third from the bottom spot.

The quiet start from both the sides was broken by Manvir who scored in the 37th minute. While Manvir provided the finish, it was the genius of Anirudh Thapa whose exceptional through ball from his own half needled Hyderabad FC defenders to perfection and found Manvir who was already sprinting towards the opposition goal. Manvir then beat the goalkeeper Lalbiakhlua Jongte to find the perfect finish to hand the Mariners lead.

Mohun Bagan were even more dangerous in the second half, consistently keeping up the pressure on Jongte's goalpost.

Subhashish Bose then headed the second goal for Mohun Bagan in the 55th minute assisted by Greg Stewart who launched a free kick brilliantly into the box. Bose then did the formalities with the header to beat Jongte.

Mohun Bagan would come close to scoring many times in the game but would fail to find the third goal. Eventually, the Mariners walked home with a 2-0 scoreline in their favour, earning their third straight win of the season that too with a clean sheet.

Hyderabad FC will next play against Kerala Blasters FC on November 7, whereas Mohun Bagan Super Giant will be squaring off against Odisha FC on November 10.
