The match started off on a solid note, with both teams looking very disciplined and composed at the back.
The first half of the game was closely contested, it ended goalless after 45 minutes.
However, Kerala Blasters substituted Kwame Peprah for Alexandre Coeff, who was booked in the 38th minute of the game.
Eight minutes into the second half, Peprah saw his yellow, but it was the home side who made the headlines after Alaeddine Ajaraie opened the scoring with a brilliant goal.
The visitors started to play a little more free-flowing football, and the momentum was then converted into a goal by the impressive Noah Sadaoui in the 67th minute.
The hosts went into defensive mode after Asheer Akhtar saw a red with under ten minutes left, and eventually played out for a draw.
NEUFC will next take on FC Goa on October 4, while Kerala Blasters will face off against Odisha FC on October 3.
