Ajaraie was the star of the show for the Highlanders and with his latest brace, the Moroccan now has most goals, 9, in the ongoing season of the competition.

The Highlanders started the game on a high, just like they have done in other games so far this season. Ajaraie found the net in the 12th before doubling his tally and NorthEast United's lead in the 40th minute. Odisha found their opener just on stroke of the hour mark as Hugo Boumous found the net. Ajaraie's cross then paved the way for NorthEast United's third goal as Guillermo Fernandez scored his first goal of the season. Diego Mauricio found a consolation second goal for the Juggernauts in the 83rd minute.

The last 10 minutes saw some high press from Odisha but the Highlanders goalkeeper Gurmeet Singh managed to keep his team ahead. Ultimately, NorthEast United won 3-2.

This is the second straight win in the competition for NorthEast United and now they have three wins alongside a couple of draws and losses. For Odisha FC, this was their third defeat apart from two wins and the same number of draws.

The Highlanders rise to fifth in the table while Odisha slip to ninth spot.

NorthEast United will travel to Bengaluru to face Bengaluru FC on November 8 whereas Odisha FC will return home to welcome Mohun Bagan Super Giant on November 10.
