Former India pacer Praveen Kumar and his son escaped unhurt in a car accident in Meerut on Tuesday. As per an ABP News report, the accident took place around 4 PM on Tuesday. Kumar and his son were travelling in their car when it was hit by a canter.

Despite the car being severely damaged, Kumar and his son were fine. As per reports, Civil Line Police reached the accident spot and arrested the canter driver.

Praveen Kumar has represented the Indian cricket in all the formats of the game. The right-arm pacer first burst onto the scene in the One Day International in 2007 vs Pakistan in Jaipur.

He was a regular member of the MS Dhoni-led side throughout the 2007 to 2011 period. In ODIs, Praveen picked up 77 wickets in 68 ODIs whereas his Test record saw him play only 6 Tests where he scalped 27 wickets.

In the T20I format, he represented India in 10 T20Is and plucked eight wickets. Praveen Kumar even left his mark on the Indian Premier League with a hat-trick to his name (for Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Rajasthan Royals in 2010).

The pacer called time on his playing career in 2018.
