After the IPL 2023 final, MS Dhoni spoke about his retirement plans in a post-match interview, indicating he wanted to plaay one more IPL. 

He said, "Circumstantially if you see, this is the best time for me to announce the retirement,” Dhoni said. “But the amount of love and affection I have been shown wherever I have been this year… the easy thing for me would be to say ‘thank you very much’, but the tough thing for me would be to work hard for nine months and come and play at least one more season of IPL. A lot depends on the body, I have six-seven months to decide, It’s something I feel I need to do for them [his fans].”
