Asked to bat first, their first in this edition, India struggled on a tricky two-paced deck. But thanks to skipper Rohit Sharma's 87 and crucial contributions from KL Rahul (39) and Suryakumar Yadav (49), the two-time champions still managed to post 229/9. Then England faded despite a promising start to the chase -- from 30 runs off the first 27 balls without losing a wicket to 129 all out in 34.5 overs.
