Bangladesh, champions in 2020, albeit in a much different avatar, are unfazed by the pedigree of their competitors, and are prepared to treat the upcoming bout as a 'normal game'.
“We will play it like a normal game. We have had good preparation for the tournament. We have had great input from our coach, so we will try to get a winning start in the tournament against India," said Bangladesh captain Mahfuzur Rahman Rabby.
Meanwhile, India captain Uday Saharan and his teammates will aim to prolong their stay at the top of the summit for a little longer. India are the reigning champions of the competition, as well as its most successful side, having previously won it five times.
Furthermore, one would have to go ten years into the past to single out an edition where India failed to reach the final. Since 2016, the young Indian teams have finished first or second in the four editions.
