Annu (4th, 6th, 39th minute), Dipi Monika Toppo (21st), Mumtaz Khan (26th, 41st, 54th, 60th), Deepika Soreng (34th, 50th, 54th), and Neelam (45th) were the goal scorers for India. India's next opponent is Germany.
The Indian women's team are the Asian Champions, when they won the Women's Junior Asia Cup 2023 title in Kakamigahara, Japan earlier this year. Speaking ahead of the tournament, coach Tushar Khandker said his team are mentally prepared for the challenges. “Our players have trained rigorously and are mentally prepared for the challenges ahead. We respect every opponent and are looking forward to a strong start against Canada.”
