India and South Africa will play the last match of their two-Test series on January 3, 2023, at Newlands in Cape Town. India is currently behind in the series, having lost the first Test, and will be looking to bounce back and level the series in the second and final match. (More Cricket News)

South Africa have named Dean Elgar as captain in the absence of Temba Bavuma who is recovering from a hamstring strain that he suffered on the first day of the first Test match while fielding. Player of the match in the first Test, Elgar is retiring from International cricket after the second Test in Cape Town.

India have suffered a humiliating loss of an innings and 32 runs in the first Test in Centurion. Rohit Sharma & Co will be looking for many changes before they step up in Newlands.

The weather in Newlands, Cape Town is expected to be pleasant for most of the day, with no precipitation disturbance. The match should not be interrupted due to any such activity. The weather for the next five days may be perfect for outdoor activities. On Wednesday morning, the temperature will be around 27 degrees Celsius, with no cloud covers in sight.

The pitch at Newlands in Cape Town offers a huge amount of assistance to seamers and both teams may go for a full-seam bowling attack in their playing XIs. The track have nothing for the spinners.
