India's Mohammed Siraj has scripted history in the Asia Cup 2023 final at RPS Colombo. The Hyderabad-born bowler has scalped five wickets in 16 deliveries. (More Cricket News)

He has also become the fourth fastest Indian to complete 50 ODI wickets. Moreover, he has become the first Indian to pluck five wickets in the Asian Cup final.

Siraj took 1002 balls to get to his 50th ODI wicket - the second quickest for any bowler in the history of ODIs, only behind Ajantha Mendis' 847 balls to the milestone.

Earlier, Sri Lanka had won the toss and elected to bat first that had a delayed start due to rains.
