Prabhsimran Singh fought his Punjab Kings' lone battle, as the batters around him kept dissipating one after another in Saturday's evening game against Delhi Capitals in New Delhi.
Prabhsimran took only 61 deliveries to reach the milestone, helping PBKS reach 167-7.
Opening the innings for the visitors, he saw off DC's bowlers for the initial 30 deliveries before amping up his strike-rate. In his innings of 103 off 65 deliveries, Prabhsimran struck 10 fours and 6 sixes.
Batting on 98 and acing Khaleel Ahmed in the 18th over, the right-hand batter struck a four past backward point to bring up his maiden IPL hundred. Before this game, he had just one fifty to his name.
Prabhsimran was cheered on by his team-mates, who came out of the dressing room to shower their applause towards a potential match-saving performance.
Committed to continue with his striking with few deliveries remaining, the batter tried a cheeky reverse-sweep against Mukesh Kumar only to have his stumps castled for a well-deserved hundred.
