Gujarat Titans' Shubman Gill added to his tally of five hundreds in 2023 by registering his first Indian Premier League (IPL) century from 56 deliveries. He also became GT's first century-maker since the team debuted last year.

Gill (101 off 58 balls) has had a splendid year with the bat, scoring runs in huge numbers, including a double-century in an ODI match against New Zealand.

Put into bat first, GT lost Wriddhiman Saha for a duck. Gill was then partnered by the Sai Sudharsan (47 off 36 balls), who has been out of action for a few games after starting strong for his team.

As usual, Gill took on the run-scoring initiative, striking 13 fours and a six while bringing up his ton. Sudharsan, on the other hand, played the perfect supporting role, rotating strikes, but scoring the occasional boundaries to keep a superior run-rate for his team.

Along with Sudharsan, Gill stitched up a 147-run partnership for the second wicket.

Once Sudharsan departed, Gill started running out of partners, as captain Hardik Pandya (8), David Miller (7) and Rahul Tewatia (3) departed in quick succession.
