Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) opener Virat Kohli struck his first hundred since 2019, and his sixth overall in the IPL, bringing up the milestone in 62 balls. He had captain Faf du Plessis for company, playing second-fiddle during their 172-run opening stand.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) bowlers looked out of their depths, not knowing how to handle arguably the most destructive duo in the competition today.

During his dominant show, Kohli struck 12 fours and 4 sixes, scoring his hundred with a six off Bhuvneshwar Kumar. He was caught off the next delivery by Glenn Phillips at long-on. Du Plessis soon departed for 71 off 47 deliveries.

The pair's running between the wickets was another highlight of their partnership, which sealed the match for RCB by 8 wickets.

Earlier, Heinrich Klaasen single-handedly carried SRH innings by scoring a 51-ball 104, powering them to 186-5.

Kohli has now equalled former RCB team-mate Chris Gayle's record of 6 IPL hundreds. This was also the first time in the IPL when two players from opposing sides scored a hundred.
