Seamer Jaydev Unadkat and spinner Jayant Yadav of India both made strong starts on the English County circuit, claiming five wickets for Sussex and Middlesex, respectively.
Unadkat, who could be called up to the Indian Test squad for the visit of South Africa later this year, grabbed nine wickets for Sussex against Leicestershire, helping them win by 15 runs in a Division Two encounter.
The left-arm seamer took 3 for 23 in the first innings and returned with figures of 32.4-6-94-6 in the second to enable Sussex not only to win by a close margin but also resurrect their promotion chances to Division One.
Cheteshwar Pujara, who is also the captain of Sussex, scored 26 and 23 runs in the game and also took a wonderful catch to eliminate Leicestershire opener Rishi Patel.
Yadav struggled for his five-wicket haul in a Division One game for Middlesex against Lancashire, returning with figures of 33-4-131-5 in a drew tie at Manchester.
Meanwhile, Yuzvendra Chahal, who made his County debut this season, got five wickets — 3/63 and 2/43 — for Kent against Nottinghamshire in a Division One game at Canterbury.
