ONE Friday Fights 34: Rodtang vs. Superlek is shaping up to feature an epic lineup of martial arts at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium.
The ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Title main event between Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Superlek Kiatmoo9 has already been announced for the card, and a thrilling strawweight MMA tilt will now join them on September 22 live in Asia primetime.
Two of the division’s most exciting competitors will duke it out when Filipino phenom Lito Adiwang takes on Indonesian fan favorite Adrian Mattheis at the iconic venue in Bangkok, Thailand.
Adiwang has been itching to return from a recurring knee injury, which has kept him out of action since his last bout in March 2022. Now, he is back to full fitness and ready to compete again.
“Thunder Kid” exploded into ONE Championship with a 4-1 run in his first five outings, notching up three finishes and entering the division’s top-five rankings.
However, a defeat to now-ONE Strawweight MMA World Champion Jarred Brooks and a subsequent loss to fellow Filipino star Jeremy Miado halted his momentum.
With time to rehab his injury and level up his skills at HIIT Studio in Bali, the powerful 30-year-old is aiming to remind fans why he was considered a serious threat to the top order.
As the leading finisher in the history of ONE’s strawweight MMA division, Mattheis can always be relied upon to bring his intensity onto the field of battle.
“Papua Badboy” has used his concussive punches to rack up some big wins – including one over former divisional king Alex Silva – and he also has an attacking submission game to make him dangerous in every range.
With nine wins and eight finishes in his last 12 matches, Mattheis owns the confidence to go on the front foot against anybody – even an opponent as explosive as Adiwang.
Packing experience and power, both athletes have a solid foundation to build back toward the division’s upper echelon, and a statement victory in Bangkok would push them closer to that goal.
