ENG Vs WI, ICC T20 World Cup 2021: Adil Rashid, Moeen Ali Star As England Beat West Indies - Highlights

Five years later, England bowlers hit back with a vengeance. West Indies had defeated England to win their second ICC T20 World Cup in 2016 with a certain Carlos Braithwaite hammering Ben Stokes for four sixes at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on a sweaty April night. Fast forward to 2021, this is what happened -- both Braithwaite and Stokes are nowhere to be seen as teams assembled in the middle east for the delayed seventh edition of the T20 World Cup. And England took on the Windies in their Super 12, Group 1 opener in Dubai after the Australia vs South Africa clash. The flambouyant Windies batters didn't last long, getting only 55 in 14.2 overs with veteran Chris Gayle the only one to reach double figures, a princely 13 off 13. It was a collapse of epic proportions for a batting line-up featuring some of the biggest names in T20 cricket. This was Windies' second-lowest T20I score, and the third-lowest in T20 World Cup for any team. And the wrecker in chief was Adil Rashid, who took four wickets for two runs in a spell of 2.2 overs. Tymal Mills and Moeen Ali took a couple each, while Chris Woakes and Chris Jordan got one apiece. Windies gave themselves a fighting chance by taking early wickets, but a target of 56 was too little.
