Felipe Massa Suing F1, FIA Over 2008 Title

Former Formula One driver Felipe Massa has said that he has filed a lawsuit in London against auto racing governing body FIA, series owner Formula One Management and Bernie Ecclestone to try and claim the 2008 title. Massa has added that he is also seeking up to $82 million in damages, a document obtained by The Associated Press reportedly shows. That amount included prize money he lost and other potential deals he would have obtained as an F1 champion. Massa has been claiming since last year that he was the “rightful” 2008 champion due to the incident known as “Crashgate.” The 42-year-old Brazilian was runner-up to Lewis Hamilton.

World number 1 and five-time champion Novak Djokovic has been knocked out of Indian Wells Masters by lucky loser and world number 123 Luca Nardi of Italy. Nardi, all of 20, has upstaged Djokovic 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 in a two hours, 20 minutes clash in the third round to notch up the biggest win of his career .

Hong Kong T20Is: Nepal Thrash PNG By 85 Runs

In match 2 of the Hong Kong men's T20I series, Rohit Paudel's team has comprehensively defeated Papua New Guinea by 85 runs. Batting first, Nepal put a towering 198 runs on the board in 20 overs. They then bundled out PNG for a paltry 113 in 16.1 overs to complete the thumping win. Kushal Bhurtel starred with bat as well as ball, scoring a half-century and picking up four wickets.

Serie A: Udinese Stun Lazio

Udinese took a big step away from the Serie A relegation zone when they beat Lazio 2-1 on the road. Udinese's only previous win this year was at Juventus. A win in the last eight stage would have fetched the 2023 World Championships bronze medallist an Olympic quota.

Report Slams Cricket Scotland For 'Prejudice Against Women'

An independent report has revealed grave concerns around Cricket Scotland's treatment of women and girls who "face a toxic environment and high degree of prejudice". British media has reported that 'The McKinney Report', a neutral assessment conducted by a Scottish HR firm, found a "high degree of prejudice towards female staff and players" within the sports body, adding that "antiquated attitudes and behaviour towards women in the game are still prevalent, particularly at club level". These findings come just a couple of years after an independent review 'Changing The Boundaries' found the organisation to be "institutionally racist", on the eve of which the whole Cricket Scotland board resigned.

Big Breaking: BCCI Clears Rishabh Pant For IPL 

In heartening news for cricket lovers all over the world, swashbuckling wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is now officially cleared to return to professional action. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has deemed Pant fit to play as a wicketkeeper-batter in the forthcoming Indian Premier League 2024 season, over a year after he suffered severe injuries in a life-threatening car crash.

Pant, who will lead Delhi Capitals, has gone through extensive rehabilitation and is expected to play the dual keeper-batter role in IPL 2024, which commences on March 22.

Ranji Trophy Final Update

Mumbai are batting Vidarbha out of the final. The 41-time Ranji Trophy champions are displaying the very 'khadoos' cricket they are known for, and stand at 349/5 at the time of writing. A sterling Musheer Khan century (136 not out off 320 balls) has powered them to a 468-run lead as we speak, and with five wickets still in hand, the target they will set Vidarbha appears to be a virtually insurmountable one.

Yashasvi Jaiswal Wins ICC Player Of Month Award

India's rising star Yashasvi Jaiswal has been named the ICC 'Player of the Month' for February, after his spectacular run in the Test series against England, which saw him amass over 700 runs. The 22-year-old southpaw totalled a staggering 712 runs over five matches, the highest aggregate by an Indian batter in a Test series against England.

"I'm really happy to achieve the ICC award and I hope I will be getting more in future," Jaiswal said after being told about the win.

Chasing an improbable 538-run target, Vidarbha ended the day at 10 for no loss. Two full days still to go, so time is not a factor in this game.

Double Olympic medallist PV Sindhu progressed to the second round of the women's singles competition at the All England Championships after her German opponent Yvonne Li retired following the completion of the first game on Tuesday. World No. 11 Sindhu, a former world champion, won the first game 21-10 before world No. 26 Li decided to throw in the towel. The 28-year-old from Hyderabad will next face top seed Korean An Se Young. Shikhar Dhawan Praises Rishabh Pant's Resilience

Punjab Kings skipper Shikhar Dhawan has revealed that Rishabh Pant was not even able to perform basic chores like going to washroom all by himself after surviving a horrific car crash in December 2022 but his "positive intent" had helped the star keeper-batter overcome those gloomy days to return fit and strong for the upcoming IPL.

"He was in such pain that he wasn't even able to move or do anything for the first few months. Even for the toilet, he needed someone's assistance. From that rough phase to now, he has shown a lot of patience, positivity, and tolerance, and it's a huge thing," Dhawan told Star Sports on Tuesday.

"It surely gave him a lot of strength, and I am sure he is going to do wonders for himself and the country," said Dhawan. (PTI)

19-year-old Musheer Khan scored a century in the Ranji Trophy final against Vidarbha on Tuesday, 12 March and by doing so, he broke the record of Sachin Tendulkar to become the youngest Mumbai cricketer to hit a century in the Ranji Trophy Final. The Master Blaster had achieved this feat at the age of 22 when scored twin hundreds in the 1994-95 season final against Punjab.

Serie A: Maurizio Sarri Reportedly Quits As Lazio Boss

Maurizio Sarri has reportedly stepped down as Lazio coach on Tuesday, the day after a disappointing defeat at home to lowly Udinese, although the club still has to accept his resignation. Sarri has been in charge of Lazio for three years and had a contract until the end of next season but Italian media outlets such as Gazzetta dello Sport and La Presse reported that the 65-year-old has handed in his notice after five losses in his past six matches. India added a second gold medal to its tally in the Para Shooting World Cup with the Mixed 10m Air Pistol Standard (SH1) team clinching the top podium finish on day four of the competition on Tuesday.
