The Board of Control for Cricket in India has lately stepped forward and sent injured Indian stars overseas to undergo surgery or to step up recovery - continues the report. BCCI recently sent Suryakumar Yadav to have surgery due to a sports hernia in Germany; Surya has since revealed that the surgery was successful and, as per the timeline reported, is likely to be back in action on the eve of the Indian Premier League and the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup beyond. The Indian cricket board is also reportedly looking to send Rishabh Pant to London for the same reasons, with the batter-wicket-keeper coming back from more than a year out.
NCA sports science head Nitin Patel will accompany Shami to the specialist in London.
Furthermore, as per the report, Indian opening batter Prithvi Shaw is likely to need another month to fully recover from an injury he suffered in the August of the previous year.
