Bangladesh pacer Shoriful Islam, if he wanted, could have easily run New Zealand opener Tim Seifert out at the non-striker's end but chose not to during their 2nd T20 International cricket match at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui on Friday. (Scorecard | Match Blog)

In the second over of the match, Seifert was hit on the side of the head by a brutal Daryl Mitchell straight drive. Floored and dazed, he was struggling to return to the safety of the crease even as Islam looked to run the batter out. But by allowing a rattled Seifert to get up and return to the crease, Islam surely must have earned plaudits from both camps.

For a team chasing a historic first T20I series in New Zealand, it was a good chance to take another wicket and reduce the hosts to 12/2 inside the first two overs. But Islam wasn't one to take advantage of the situation during the NZ vs BAN clash. Watch it here:

Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and opted to bowl first under overcast conditions. Shoriful Islam, then, removed Finn Allen with the second ball of his first over to give the visitors a dream start. A win today will give Bangladesh a first T20I series against New Zealand.

The Tigers won the first match of the three-match series by five wickets in Napier on Wednesday for their first-ever victory against the BlackCaps in New Zealand.
