ISSF Shooting WC Final 2024: Akhil Sheoran Settles With Bronze, Gets India's Second Medal

Indian shooter Akhil Sheoran bagged the bronze medal in the 50m Rifle 3 Position Men final at the ISSF Shooting World Cup 2024 in New Delhi on Wednesday. It is India's second medal at the ongoing multi-nation event. (More Sports News)

Peni Istvan of Hungary won the gold medal with 465.3 points and Czechia's Jiri Privratsky got the silver medal with 464.2 points. India's Chain Singh finished seventh with 409.3 points.

Sheoran scored 152.4 points in the kneeling event, similar to Chain Singh's points, and they were joint-sixth place in the eight-person event.

Then in the Prone event, Akhil scored 309.7 points and Chain Singh could only score 308.3 points which put Singh in seventh place.

He was the second shooter to exit from the event after Finland's Leppa Aleksi who scored 407.8 points.

In the standing elimination round, Akhil beat Kazakhstan's Malinovskiy Konstantin, Austria's Schmirl Alexander and China's Liu Yukun. Yukun scored 442.4 points in his three events combined.

Gold medallist Peni Istvan kept increasing his lead from the start and remained cool till the end, with a 10.6 in the last elimination round, he clinched gold medal.
