Currently, residing in 22nd place in the Paris Paralympics 2024 standings with five medals—one gold, one silver, and three bronze—India’s hopes for further glory rise today. Rubina Francis claimed India's fifth medal, a bronze in the Women’s 10m Air Pistol SH1 P2, becoming the first woman Pistol Para Shooter of India to achieve the feat.

India suffered from some heartbreaks on Saturday as their archery hopes were dashed. The second seed Sheetal Devi was defeated by Tokyo silver medalist Mariana Zuniga in the Round of 16 of the Women’s Compound event. Sarita Kumari too fell short against world champion Oznur Cure.

Paris Paralympics Day 4: India's Medal Events Today

In Badminton, India is poised for up to six medals today, with one already confirmed. The Men’s Singles SL4 Semifinal features Suhas Yathiraj vs. Sukant Kadam, guaranteeing at least a silver medal for India.

In the Men’s Singles SL3 Semifinal, Nitesh Kumar will face Japan’s Daisuke Fujihara at 8:10 PM IST. A victory will earn another medal for India, while a loss will send him to the bronze medal match.

The Women’s Singles SU5 Semifinal, slated for 2:00 AM IST on September 2, will see the Indian shuttler Thulasimathi Murugesan up against Manisha Ramadass or Japan’s Mamiko Toyoda. Another medal if victory chooses the Indians at La Chapelle Arena.

The bronze medal match in Women’s Doubles will feature India's Sivarajan Solaimalai/Nithya Sre against Subhan/Rina Marlina.

Palak Kohli will play in the Women’s Singles SL4 Quarterfinal against Khalimatus Sadiyah at 12:50 PM IST. A win would earn her a spot in the semifinals against Leani Ratri Oktila.

In the Women’s Singles SL3 Semifinal, Mandeep Kaur will compete against Xiao Zuxian (CHN), with the match scheduled for not before 9:00 PM IST, subject to qualification.

Nithya Sre Sumathy Sivan will aim for the semifinals spot as she gears for her Women’s Singles SH6 Quarterfinal match against Oliwia Szmigiel (POL) at 5:00 PM IST.

Lastly, Avani Lekhara and veteran Sidhartha Babu will be in action in the Mixed 10m Air Rifle Prone SH1 Qualification on Sunday at 1:00 PM IST. If they qualify, the final will be held at 4:30 PM IST.
