By the looks of things, Punjab Kings have decided to proceed with most of their current squad for the Indian Premier League 2024 season. Punjab have retained most of their line up from the previous season, which means there is space in the squad for Shikhar Dhawan, Arshdeep Singh, Jitesh Sharma, Kagiso Rabada, Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran, and other significant players. Their deep roster means that Punjab will head into the mini-auction in December with a purse of 29.1 crores and few spots to fill. (IND Vs AUS Blog | IPL Trading Highlights)
Among the releases, Bhanuka Rajapaksa's name stands out on its own; the Sri Lankan batter has shown explosive form for the Kings at times, but the lack of consistency has seen him stay out of the starting line-up more than in it. Furthermore, Punjab have also released Shahrukh Khan and Raj Angad Bawa, whom they had picked up in 2022 after his heroics with the India U-19 team.
