Rinku Singh Included In India 'A' Squad For Second Unofficial Test Against England Lions

Following Rinku Singh's exploits in T20 internationals and on the back of his consistent red-ball performances for Uttar Pradesh, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has added the southpaw's name to the India 'A' squad for the second four-day match against England Lions

Explosive yet reliable southpaw Rinku Singh, who has made waves in T20 international cricket for India, was on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 included in the India 'A' squad for the second four-day match against England Lions to be played in Ahmedabad, starting Wednesday. (More Cricket News)

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said in a media release: "The Men’s Selection Committee has added Rinku Singh to India ‘A’ squad for the second four-day match against England Lions to be played in Ahmedabad from 24th January."

After his exploits in T20Is, Rinku made his one-day international debut in the series against South Africa, where he played two matches and notched up scores of 17 and 38.

Though he has made his name as a white-ball player for India first, the left-handed batter has been a consistent performer for Uttar Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy and other red-ball cricket too. Rinku has played 44 first-class matches so far, scoring 3,109 runs at a healthy average of 57.57.

In the first match against the England Lions last week, India 'A' had shaked hands with a draw after scoring 227 and 426/5 in their two innings, in response to the visitors 553/8 declared and 163/6 in Ahmedabad.
