Shivam Dube Added To West Zone Squad For Deodhar Trophy

India all-rounder Shivam Dube was on Monday added to the 15-member West Zone squad for the Deodhar Trophy.

Fast bowler Tushar Deshpande was listed among the standby players for the tournament, which is scheduled to commence on July 24.

This will be the first time that the tournament is held post the COVID-19 pandemic. The last edition was played during the 2019-20 season.

The entirety of the tournament will be played in Puducherry from July 24 to August 3.

Dube had an excellent outing with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), where he scored 418 runs in 16 matches at the strike-rate of 158.33.

West Zone's 15-member squad also features India and Delhi Capitals' batter Prithvi Shaw, who is scheduled to play for Northamptonshire in the County Championship after the conclusion of the ongoing Duleep Trophy.

Priyank Panchal will lead the West Zone team, which includes players like Rahul Tripathi and Sarfaraz Khan.

Deshpande, too, had a memorable season with CSK, picking up 21 wickets in 16 matches, emerging as their highest wicket-taker. He was recently called up into the West Zone team before the Duleep Trophy semi-final match against Central Zone.
