As the Men In Yellow prepare to take on the Proteas, here'a SWOT analysis of the Australian cricket team ahead of the crucial tie in Kolkata on Thursday.

Strengths:
The batting line-up has been one of the major strengths for the Aussies coming into the semis against South Africa. Be it Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, David Warner or Glenn Maxwell; everyone has contributed up the order for the Aussies as they eye a sixth World Cup title.

Weakness:
One major flaw in the Australian team would be its bowling. Besides Adam Zampa, none of the pacers have really lit up the tournament. Mitchell Starc has been inconsistent, Josh Hazlewood and other bowlers have not been among the wickets and this could really be a worrying factor for Pat Cummins.

Opportunities:
The Aussies would look back the tape where India bowled out the South African side for 83 on the very same venue and might look to return the favour. Moreover, the weight of the 'chokers' tag could yet haunt the Proteas and Kangaroos would look to seize the opportunity and hunt down the Proteas.

Threats:
One major threat from the South African line-up would be Quinton de Kock. The southpaw has been in belligerent form in the ongoing World Cup and if he starts firing on all cylinders, the Aussies would have a hard time on the field.
