Biggest Total In Men's ODI World Cup
South Africa's total of 428 for 5 against Sri Lanka in Delhi is the biggest in the men's ODI World Cup, overtaking Australia's 417 for 5 against Afghanistan in 2015. It is also the biggest-ever ODI total against Sri Lanka, crossing India's 414 for 7 in 2009 in Rajkot.

Fastest Century In ODI World Cup
Aiden Markram got to his 100 off 49 balls, making it the fastest ton in the ODI World Cup. He broke the 50-ball record set by Ireland's Kevin O'Brien against England in 2011.

Most Tons In A World Cup Innings
South Africa's innings featured three centurions — Quinton de Kock (100), Rassie van der Dussen (108) and Aiden Markram (106). This is the first instance of three hundred-plus scores in a World Cup innings. In ODIs in general, there have been three instances of teams having three centurions in the same innings. Two of those were by South Africa in 2015 - against West Indies in Johannesburg and against India in Mumbai. 

Most 400-Plus Totals In ODIs
The mammoth 428/5 South Africa posted on Saturday was their eighth 400-plus total in ODIs, which is the most by any team. The next best team is India, with six 400-plus scores. Furthermore, three of South Africa's 400-plus totals have come in World Cups, which is a runaway record as all other teams combined have two 400-plus totals in the 50-over World Cup.

Most Runs Scored In A Men's World Cup Match 
The run-fest that ensued in Delhi on Saturday aggregated to 754 runs from both sides, making it the highest aggregate for a men's ODI World Cup match. The previous most was 714 runs between Australia and Bangladesh at Trent Bridge during the 2019 ODI World Cup.

Most ODI Tons Before Maiden World Cup Hundred 
Quinton de Kock scored 17 centuries before his maiden World Cup ton on Saturday against Sri Lanka. No international batter has scored more ODI hundreds before a maiden World Cup century.
