A massive main event matchup between Stamp Fairtex and Ham Seo Hee has been confirmed for ONE Fight Night 14 on Prime Video.
The two stars will duke it out for the ONE Interim Women’s Atomweight MMA World Championship live in U.S. primetime on Friday, September 1.
With longtime divisional queen Angela Lee still undecided about her competitive future following the tragic death of her younger sister, Victoria Lee, the decision was made to introduce an interim belt.
As a result, #1-ranked Stamp and #2-ranked Ham will officially clash for the gold.
For her part, Stamp is looking to become an unprecedented three-sport ONE World Champion after previously owning the ONE Women’s Atomweight Muay Thai and Kickboxing World Titles.
This will be the 25-year-old’s second opportunity to claim the atomweight MMA throne.
She won the 2021 ONE Women’s Atomweight MMA World Grand Prix silver belt to earn a shot at Lee, and despite hurting the defending titleholder with a body shot in round one, she succumbed to a rear-naked choke finish in round two.
Now, with back-to-back victories and the top-contender spot to her credit, the Thai megastar is preparing for her second chance to make history.
However, getting past Ham will not be an easy feat.
The South Korean slugger has fought and defeated top-level opponents from around the world throughout her storied 16-year career and has competed in 34 professional MMA contests to Stamp’s 12.
Now 3-0 in ONE, “Hamzzang” is riding an impressive nine-bout winning streak, which includes a pair of wins over the division’s former #1-ranked contender, Denice Zamboanga.
The 36-year-old Team Mad representative also solidified her #2 spot with a victory over Japanese rising star Itsuki Hirata in March.
Both Stamp and Ham are known for action-packed battles and have serious firepower in their stand-up arsenals, so their showdown on September 1 has all the makings of a World Title classic.
