England have announced their starting XI for the third Ashes Test, which will be played from July 6 to 10 at Leeds.

Australia have won both Test matches at Edgbaston and Lord's by 2 wickets and 43 runs, respectively, with three matches remaining.

In their effort to make a comeback into the series, England made three changes to their team.

Ollie Pope, who dislocated his shoulder during the Lord's Test, was ruled out for the remainder of the series and will undergo surgery.

Josh Tongue and veteran seamer James Anderson, too, have been dropped, with Chris Woakes and Moeen Ali replacing them.

Anderson struggled in both the matches that concluded, picking up just three wickets across 4 innings.

Moeen Ali, who had featured in the opening Test, but missed out the 2nd due to injury, returns to the team and will be keen to exhibit his skills with the bat and ball.

Mark Wood, who was the third name added to the list, is expected to strengthen England's bowling attack with his sheer pace and accuracy.

The second Test at Lord's saw England fall short by 43 runs despite England skipper Ben Stokes scoring a scintillating 155.

England trail Australia 0-2 with three matches to go.
