ONE Friday Fights 34: Rodtang vs. Superlek showcased the biggest Muay Thai showdown in many years, and the entire lineup didn’t disappoint on September 22 at the famed Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Fans witnessed a Muay Thai Super Fight between modern-day striking greats, as ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 narrowly defeated ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon in a long-awaited matchup.
Superlek unleashed his ferocious leg kicks from the first bell, but Rodtang responded with a precise elbow that cut “The Kicking Machine” wide open. The second frame saw Rodtang suffer the first knockdown of his ONE tenure, and the pair went hell for leather in the final slate to round off a contest for the ages.
Ultimately, “The Kicking Machine’s” pivotal knockdown was enough to earn him the unanimous decision victory in front of a wild Thai crowd.
The co-main event showcased an elbowing masterclass, as four-time Muay Thai World Champion Seksan Or Kwanmuang met Malaysian-Iranian star Amir Naseri in 140-pound catchweight Muay Thai action.
The elite competitors went back and forth with short elbow attacks on one another. And while Naseri’s managed to leave lumps, the Thai legend landed the cleaner strikes to cut open his adversary, earn the unanimous decision, and pick up his sixth consecutive win in ONE.
The history-making event also saw memorable wins for Muangthai PK Saenchai, Miguel Trindade, Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai, Prajanchai PK Saenchai, Lito Adiwang, and others.
