Spanish star Cristina Morales will soon make her highly anticipated return to the world’s largest martial arts organization.
On November 3 in U.S. primetime, Morales will compete in ONE for the first time in two years when she faces Thai sensation Anna “Supergirl” Jaroonsak in a pivotal atomweight kickboxing bout at ONE Fight Night 16: Haggerty vs. Andrade on Prime Video.
Set to go down at the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, that matchup represents the third attempt at bringing the two strikers together.
Illness and injury postponed the fight twice before, but according to Morales, the delays have only given her more time to sharpen her tools and hone her preparations for “Supergirl.”
The 30-year-old told onefc.com:
“We’re finally going to face each other on the third try. The truth is that I’m really motivated, and I feel strong.
“We’ve prepared a long time for this fight, and I think it’s been one of the longest preparations I’ve ever had for one person, so we’ve had plenty of time to train physically and mentally. I’m looking forward to returning to ONE’s stage and giving it my all, like I do every time I get inside the ring.”
A three-time ISKA Kickboxing World Champion with a degree in sports psychology, Morales will be dialed in and ready to go despite her layoff from the bright lights of ONE Championship.
She says she’s been picturing the battle in her head – envisioning a flawless performance and a much-needed victory:
“I see myself in the fight. In psychology, we work a lot on visualizing the fight, and every day after training, I visualize every shot that I want to throw, every shot that I want to connect.
“I want to win the fight, enjoy it, and be able to get the victory.”
Morales Remains Focused On Her Own Strengths
Beyond visualizing a victory at ONE Fight Night 16, Cristina Morales is preparing for her long-awaited showdown with Anna Jaroonsak by sharpening her best weapons.
She knows that “Supergirl” – one of Thailand’s fastest-rising talents with a wealth of high-level experience – is certain to be a tough assignment.
However, Morales isn’t spending too much time worrying about her foe:
“Instead of focusing on my opponent, I focus on my strengths, and I work on them. I don’t focus too much on my opponent. I think she’s a complete fighter, and I prefer to focus on what I can do.”
By putting energy into her own strengths, the woman from Sevilla intends to compete at her best. Namely, showcasing her trademark fast pace with an eye for the knockout.
Morales added:
“One of my strengths is my intensity within the fight and my power shots.”
