Canadian rider Hugo Houle won Stage 16 (Carcassonne to Foix, 178.5 km) of Tour de France 2022 ahead of Frenchman Valentin Madouas (Groupama–FDJ) and fellow Canadian and Israel–Premier Tech team-mate Michael Woods on Tuesday. The 31-year-old then dedicated his first stage win to his late brother, who was killed in a 2012 hit-and-run. Denmark's Team Jumbo–Visma rider Jonas Vingegaard continued to lead the general classification since first taking the yellow jersey after Stage 11. Wednesday will witness another mountain ride as Stage 17 covers 130 km from Saint-Gaudens to Peyragudes.
