A fuming Jurgen Klopp blasted those responsible for organising the Liverpool manager's press conference in a tent across the road from the stadium where his team had just lost 3-2 against Toulouse. "Who had the idea to do the press conference here? That would be a really interesting question. Wow," Klopp said, as raucous Toulouse supporters drowned out his voice from outside the tent.
Klopp was also severly crticial of his team, claiming them to lack the neccessary elements to turn the game into a real contest. He subsequently presented his congratulations to Toulouse, claiming that the French side deserved to win the match.
"We were not aggressive enough," Klopp said. "We gave balls easily away. Real mistakes.
"With all the possession you have obviously you should create more but you cannot concede three goals here, that makes no sense.
"They fought harder and it was deserved. Congratulations to Toulouse.
"You can play as good as you want but if you don't win decisive battles you have no chance in football."
Despite the defeat, Liverpool remain in pole position to qualify for the next round as group winners. Klopp's men have nine points in four games, two more than second-placed Toulouse, and five better off Belgium's Union Saint-Gilloise.
Liverpool will hope to bounce back from defeat when they take on Brentford in the Premier League on November 12, 7:30 PM IST.
